Shireburn, a leading name in Malta’s software industry, is renowned for its robust business solutions and Indigo People—its specialised software suite for HR, payroll, clocking, and more. Our partnership with Shireburn began when they reached out to Vioside to discuss the maintenance and expansion of the Indigo Mobile App. Initially designed to provide straight-forward time-tracking for users, we have since collaborated to enhance the app with a sophisticated Leave module that is just as intuitive to use.

The award-winning Indigo People suite is a cloud-based platform for payroll, HR, leave, attendance management, and much more. This people-management solution is created and managed by local company Shireburn and delivered through a comprehensive web portal which is accessible to administrators, management, and staff.

One of Indigo's products is the fully native mobile app, available for both iOS and Android. The Indigo Mobile app hosts easily accessible features to employees, such as viewing schedules, clocking in and out of shifts, and managing their leave.

When Vioside began working on the existing mobile app, the team conducted a thorough analysis to document and understand its current features, including employee scheduling and clocking. Throughout the process, we focused on providing on-demand support, maintenance, and developing new features. This commitment fostered a strong rapport with Shireburn, ensuring close communication and a solid partnership between both teams.

After this initial assessment, Shireburn shared the backend services, designs and APIs for the Indigo Mobile App, which we eventually transformed into a fully functional app for both Apple’s iOS and Google’s Android platforms. This collaboration resulted in streamlined solutions that prioritise an intuitive user interface and a future-proof design, making everyday tasks easy and enjoyable for Indigo People users. Our first major enhancement for the Indigo Mobile App was expanding the clocking functionality to allow employees to clock in by company projects.

Following that, Vioside developed a comprehensive suite of features focused on employee leave and successfully launched them in the app. What started as a simple app for clocking in and out has evolved into a powerful tool for Shireburn clients. They can now book leave, communicate with their approvers, and track leave history, balances, and colleagues’ leave status—all with just a few taps on their phones. We ensured the app’s functionality matched the streamlined experience Shireburn clients enjoy on their browser platform.
